Usability Task
In a typical scenario, artists land on the homepage, after receiving a project request from a client, and can easily review its details to decide if it aligns with their time and effort. If unsure, AI tools help assess value and suggest negotiation strategies. When proposing revised budgets, the app supports clear, confident communication with clients. I prioritized utility to bridge the confidence gap in negotiations, making Nego both a project manager and a tool for empowered decision-making
Wireframes
The Nego App wireframes prioritize clarity, ease of use, and user confidence. Key project details are front and center to support quick decisions, while AI tools and messaging features are easily accessible. A clean layout follows a natural freelance workflow, and a purposeful use of color visually indicates project progress, helping users quickly understand status and next steps.
Usability Interviews
During usability testing of the Nego App, three participants provided insightful feedback that improved the Nego application.
-
Participant 1 found the Nego App's homepage intuitive, noting its clear layout with a notification center, task list, and easy navigation to project details. They efficiently located and reviewed a new project request and appreciated features for accepting or rejecting tasks. To address budget concerns, they suggested adding prewritten or custom explanations when declining a project. They found the "Need Help" feature especially useful for revising budgets, offering data-backed suggestions. Overall, they viewed the app as a valuable tool for freelancers managing client workflows.
-
Participant 2 felt the homepage lacked visual appeal and strong branding for a designer-focused app. They appreciated the ease of reviewing project requests but wanted better file organization. After seeing a high-effort, low-budget project, they stressed the need for built-in support to justify higher rates. They emphasized professionalism when communicating budget revisions and praised the layout of tools to guide client conversations. Their feedback included adding dark mode and more visual flair, calling the app a great prototype with strong potential.
-
Participant 3 described the homepage as clean and simple, though it could be more engaging. They quickly located a new project request and reviewed its details. When uncertain about the value, they preferred communicating directly with the client to clarify scope and deadlines. For revised budgets, they stressed the importance of explaining the workload clearly. They found the app helpful for organizing client interactions and believed it could greatly benefit designers navigating project expectations and time management.
